Hailing from the North Shore of Oahu, Nathan Florence has grown up with some of the world’s most iconic surf breaks right outside his door. This unique environment not only shaped Nathan into the surfer he is today, but lit a fire in him to continue the hunt for challenging surf locales. This hunger for progression can only be satisfied through exploration, and for that you need the right equipment.
As part of our VR3 collection, Vans have re-thought, re-engineered and rebuilt every little bit of the Vans x Nathan Florence UltraRange VR3 to make them more sustainable. This includes a molded EcoCush™ midsole, a lightweight construction, an EcoWaffle™ rubber outsole, and a breathable upper designed to reduce waste in production compared to Vans’ traditional cut and sew uppers.

- FOOTBED: The new EcoCush™ midsole is made using at least 50% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plant-based sources per the ASTM D6866-16 testing standard.
- OUTSOLE: The new EcoWaffle™ outsole uses an all new rubber compound made with responsibly sourced natural rubber instead of petroleum derived synthetic rubber. This new rubber compound was developed and engineered to maintain the grip and durability Vans has been known for since ’66.
